Junior Engineer (Fixed Term Contract)

We are seeking a Junior Engineer to join our Maintenance Team, for a Fixed Term Contract through until November 2023, based at our Tasman Mill, Kawerau. 

Reporting to the Reliability Engineering Manager, this temporary contract role is to assist the Maintenance Team with our reliability project by reviewing and updating our plant inspection task lists and ensuring they include programmed maintenance (PM) standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop new maintenance routes as well as review and update current plant inspection tasks ensuring that maintenance and operator inspections are developed in line with required guidelines and standards
  • Incorporate theoretical engineering knowledge into practical outcomes by reviewing critical site equipment and ensuring correct maintenance management, including reviewing comprehensive parts lists
  • Demonstrate commitment to and maintain a unified and positive safety culture that applies key learnings and strives for continual improvement.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Reliability Engineering
  • Self–motivated, strong work ethic and good time management
  • Preferably experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Quick learner with good attention to detail skills
  • Proficient at picking up new computer skills, i.e. maintenance platform(s) such as SAP, MS Office (Excel, Project)
  • Competence in management of technical data
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
