Maintenance Fitter - Manufacturing plant

Oji Fibre Solutions, part of a rapidly expanding
global manufacturer of innovative packaging solutions, requires an enthusiastic
person to fill the position of Maintenance Fitter (Afternoon
Shift)
and join our packaging site in Noble Park VIC. Our Vic site manufactures
corrugated boxes which play an important part in the presentation, protection,
and transportation of customer products in the Horticulture, Meat, Industrial,
FMCG and Paper Products segments.
Reporting to the National Operations Improvement Manager, this role will require the use of your technical and mechanical capabilities combined with hands-on functions, so if you love working in a fast paced manufacturing environment, have a ‘can-do’ attitude and want to challenge your multi-skilling abilities then please read on!
On a daily basis, this role will require the successful incumbent to:
- Promptly attend to production machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime;
- Implement Preventative/Routine Maintenance programs to achieve machine and line efficiency;
- Investigate failures and make recommendations to reduce risk and improve systems / processes;
- Log all work in the maintenance system such as MEX etc. Ensuring relevant documentation is complete and accurate;
- Perform fabrication jobs such as welding, cutting, grinding etc;
- Work as a team player and be accountable for maintenance KPIs; and
- Adhere to established EHSR policies and procedures.
You will be required to hold the following level of experience and
qualifications:
- Min. 5 years post-trade experience in a manufacturing/packaging/FMCG environment;
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics;
- Relevant Australian Trade Qualifications or Trade Recognition - Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter, Fitter/Machinist;
- Working knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and Lean basic tools;
- Experience in using SAP; and
- Boiler attendant licence, Forklift and EWP licences preferred.

- Good communication skills across all operational levels;
- An ability to work efficiently without direct supervision to complete your duties;
- Passion and drive in identifying opportunities for improvement;
