Based at our Corrugated Case business in Hornby, Christchurch, we provide innovative and high-quality cardboard packaging to the dairy, horticulture, industrial and food sectors.  This role is critical to our business and requires extensive knowledge of the manufacturing environment.  We are looking for a positive, ‘go-to’ person who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. With a mix of Management and Financial Accounting, you will never be bored.  It goes without saying you are a whiz when it comes to:

  • Product cost accounting, margin and variance analysis  
  • Management reporting, forecasting and business analysis
  • Manage end-to-end month-end processes, including journals and reconciliation
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Monitor internal controls and meet all internal and external audit requirements
  • Review, maintain and develop systems and control procedures
  • Provide back-up to the Commercial Manager, mentor and support other team members
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures

What we need:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Management Accounting, with good grounding in Financial Accounting (Experience working within the manufacturing sector advantageous)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (CA/CPA qualification desirable but not essential)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferable)
  • Self-managing with excellent time management skills
  • Resilient and driven to succeed
  • Proactive, with sound problem solving skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A desire to interact and partner with the wider business
  • A continuous improvement mindset
