Plant Engineer – Pulp Dryer
We are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated Plant Engineer to join the Pulp Dryer Team at our Tasman Mill, Kawerau.
About the Role
As a Plant Engineer, you will be the vital connection between manufacturing, operations, and maintenance—driving efficiency, ensuring reliability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement that aligns with business objectives. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will collaborate across teams, tackle technical challenges, and enhance production systems to support long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
What any given day could involve:
- Ensure EHS&R standards are met with industry-leading best practices.
- Develop and maintain production systems such as KOPs and SOPs.
- Lead production planning, shutdown coordination, and cost management.
- Drive process improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Strengthen team capability through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset using competitive manufacturing principles.

What You Bring to the Role
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a closely related qualification.
- Ideally 2+ years of operational experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage across all business levels.
- A practical and innovative mindset with strong attention to detail.
- A passion for working in a team-oriented environment.
