About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role sits within the Engineering Project Delivery team and plays a central role in managing program controls, budgeting, and performance monitoring. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems that track and forecast capital and maintenance program spend, support budget planning, and align financial data with operational progress. This role requires a strong foundation in financial analysis, program planning, and cross-functional collaboration, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both data and people to drive performance.

 

What you will do

Utilising your project management skills

  • Develop and maintain tools to monitor capital and NRM program performance, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage budgeting processes, including future-year planning, version control, and variance tracking.
  • Ensure accurate cost analysis and reporting, with seamless integration between project and financial systems.
  • Act as SME for project controls, guiding consistent use of tools and standards across engineering teams.
  • Support fund allocation, team collaboration, and a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build interdepartmental relationships with different OJI departments and contracted staff.

Ideally you will hold a tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, or finance, and bring proven experience in project controls, budgeting, or scheduling. You will be highly skilled in financial tracking, cost forecasting, and program budgeting, with proficiency in project control tools such as Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), SAP, and Fiori. Strong communication skills, coupled with a commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, are essential for success in this role.
