Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country.  Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.

Our site based in Levin is seeking an experienced Quality coordinator who is passionate about Quality, enjoys a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys the variety provided by working both in the office and the production floor.

Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the quality of our packaging is superior when it comes off the production line by supporting the Quality & Compliance Manager and filling in as 2IC when required
• Maintaining Quality management systems in accordance with industry standards ISO 9001, 22000
• Maintaining site compliance with all regulatory and customer specific quality requirements
• Quality Assurance & Quality Control: Implement and maintain testing, quality assurance and food safety processes and procedures, conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process items and finished products, perform audits of production processes to ensure adherence to SOP’s, quality standards and food safety regulations, manage quarantine/rework area, management of DWR internal defects system, managing of new colour matchings and swatch creation via ink maker software
• Documentation & Reporting – maintain all records
• Continuous improvement – experience with Six Sigma methodologies and a genuine desire to identify areas of improvement and work alongside the production team to implement

To be successful in this role you need:

• Experience in manufacturing sector within GMP pharmaceutical, dairy or food sector desirable
• 3 + years of Quality Assurance experience with proven results and a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Sound knowledge of Food Safety Systems, HACCP and GMP is important
• Experience working within a Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence environment
• Microsoft Word, Excel, databases – intermediate level
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications advantageous but not a pre-requisite
• Ability to influence and communicate with a wide range of people
• Self-motivated and willing to learn and work to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and good time management skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
