Site IT Engineer - Central North Island

About the role

  • We’re looking for a Site IT Engineer to provide hands-on IT delivery and support across our Central North Island sites (Kinleith Mill and Tasman Mill [Kawerau]). This is a varied, practical role where you’ll be the go-to IT presence on site – supporting infrastructure, end-user technology, security systems, and specialist factory and plant devices.
  • You’ll work closely with our IT teams, vendors, and site stakeholders to keep critical systems running smoothly and safely, while also contributing to improvement initiatives and project work.
  • This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the business, troubleshooting in real-world environments, and taking ownership of site IT outcomes.
  • This role comes with a vehicle. A full drivers license is essential.

  • Keep IT leaders informed of risks or service impacts

Routine site maintenance

  • Conduct regular site visits and proactively manage IT maintenance requirements
  • Ensure site tickets are logged, accurate, and up to date in the ITSM system
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and share local knowledge with IT teams
  • Work with site stakeholders to prioritise IT tasks and improvements

  • Deliver assigned project work to agreed requirements and timelines
  • Support new site setups, technology upgrades, and infrastructure changes

  • Barcode scanners and verifiers
  • OEM and machine interfaces (e.g. corrugators, PLC programming tablets)

  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware, cabling, maintenance, and site works

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in site-based IT support or infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across hardware, networking, and end-user systems
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or operational environments (highly regarded)
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with wider IT teams
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Willingness to travel to assigned sites as required

Why join us?

  • Varied, hands-on role with real impact on day-to-day operations
