Sustainability Manager

We’re looking for a Sustainability Manager to join an established sustainability team and work closely alongside another Sustainability Manager, with scope to shape your focus across a broad range of workstreams. This role reports to the Group Manager – Sustainability within the Group Governance division.

This is a broad role suited to someone who brings both action-oriented delivery and systems thinking, able to connect the detail with the bigger picture.

About the role

This is a hands-on role for someone who combines action-oriented delivery with systems thinking - able to connect data, processes, and practical outcomes.

Your work will span a wide range of priorities, including:

  • Sustainable fibre sourcing and supplier due diligence
  • Certification programmes (FSC/PEFC) and audit coordination
  • SEDEX and EcoVadis programme management
  • Sustainability reporting, including the annual Sustainability Report
  • Emissions measurement and reporting (Scope 1, 2 and developing Scope 3)
  • Sustainability data, systems and performance tracking
  • Customer ESG queries and reporting requirements
  • Supporting programmes such as biodiversity and modern slavery

Scope will be shaped based on team priorities and individual strengths.

What we’re looking for

  • A practical, delivery-focused sustainability professional
  • Strong systems thinker who can work across data, processes, and stakeholders
  • Experience in sustainability-related roles, ideally within procurement, supply chain, accounting, or reporting environments
  • Strong data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills
  • Experience in areas such as reporting, certification, emissions, or supplier programmes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across the business
  • Experience with audits (internal, certification, supplier, or assurance) is preferred

Location & flexibility

  • Based in Auckland (Greenlane office)
  • 4 days per week considered for the right candidate
  • Some travel within New Zealand required
